3. Creating pick pool through Bookmarks
Release Note
Release Date: Already on Production
Introduction
In the Warehouse Management System (WMS), managing orders efficiently is essential for streamlining warehouse operations. To enhance the pick pool creation process, we’ve improved the bookmark functionality, enabling users to assign priority ratings to saved filters and manage them more effectively through a dedicated bookmark view.
What’s New
- Save Filters with Priority Ratings: Users can now assign priority levels to saved filters, ensuring better organization and prioritization of orders.
- Bookmark View: A centralized view has been introduced, allowing users to see all their saved bookmarks at a glance.
- Automatic Order Grouping: All current and future orders that meet the criteria of a saved bookmark will be automatically grouped under the respective bookmark.
- Direct Pick Pool Creation: Users can now create pick pools directly from their saved bookmarks.
Advantages
- Enhanced Order Prioritization: The ability to assign priority ratings to bookmarks allows users to focus on high-priority orders first, ensuring critical tasks are handled promptly and efficiently.
- Centralized Bookmark Management: The dedicated bookmark view provides a centralized interface to manage and access all saved bookmarks, simplifying navigation and improving user experience.
- Streamlined Pick Pool Creation: Users can directly create pick pools from saved bookmarks, reducing the time and effort needed for repetitive tasks and improving overall workflow efficiency.
- Improved Operational Productivity: By reducing manual input and automating order grouping, this feature minimizes errors, speeds up processes, and enables teams to focus on core warehouse operations.
How to Use
1. Creating a Bookmark
Step 1: Navigate to the Order Module from the primary panel.
Step 2: In the secondary panel, go to:
- Ready for Pool tab for pick pool accounts, or
- Unassigned tab for hybrid accounts.
Step 3: Apply the desired filters, select the number of items displayed on a single page, and click on Create Bookmark.
Step 4: Provide the following details:
- Bookmark Name
- Bookmark Type (Personal or Global)
- Priority (P0 is the highest priority, P5 is the lowest)
Click on Create Bookmark to save.
2. Managing the Bookmarks
Step 1: To view all created bookmarks, navigate to the Bookmark View. Bookmarks will be sorted by priority level.
Step 2: Use filters to sort bookmarks based on priority or bookmark type.
Step 3: Manage bookmarks:
- To update the priority, use the Edit action.
- To delete a bookmark, select the Delete action.
3. Creating pick pool through Bookmarks
Step 1: From the action menu of the desired bookmark, click on Create Pick Pool.
Step 2: A pop-up will appear:
- Total Number of Orders: Existing orders meeting the bookmark's criteria.
- Total Number of Pools: Specify how many pools you need.
- Number of Orders per Pool: Specify the number of orders each pool should contain.
Example:
If the bookmark contains 100 orders:
-
- Enter Total Number of Pools = 2 and Orders per Pool = 50.
- This will split the 100 orders into 2 pools with 50 orders each.
Step 3: Click on Create Pick Pool.
Step 4:
- If the Printing Bench is not enabled, the created pools will appear in the Pool Created tab in the secondary panel.
- If the Printing Bench is enabled, the system will prompt you to Print or Download the pool sheet.
Note:
-
Order Allocation Logic: Pick pools are created using a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) logic based on the order creation date.
For example: If 100 orders meet the bookmark's criteria and the user creates only 1 pool with 80 orders, the first 80 orders (oldest) will be allocated to the pool, while the remaining 20 (latest) will be unallocated.
Summary
This enhancement makes the pick pool process more intuitive and efficient by providing users with advanced bookmark management tools. With the ability to assign priorities and create pick pools directly, businesses can optimize warehouse operations and reduce manual effort.
