Introduction
Effectively managing delivery charges is crucial for maintaining control over logistics costs and ensuring transparency in billing. To improve this process, the Warehouse Management System (WMS) introduces a new Rate Card Module, enabling users to define and manage carrier delivery charges This enhancement simplifies the way charges are applied to orders, providing flexibility and accuracy in billing.
What’s New
- Users can create rate cards for each carrier, applying either flat-rate or weight-based charges for every parcel or consignment.
- Once created, these rate cards can be seamlessly applied within the billing module for both B2C and B2B orders, streamlining the process of calculating and managing delivery costs.

How to Use

Creating a New Rate Card
Step 1: Navigate to Warehouse Module.
Step 2: In the secondary panel, go to the Rate Cards sub-module.
Step 3: Click on Create New Rate Card to start creating a rate card for a specific carrier.
Step 4: There are two types of charges which can be set:

Flat Charges:
- Enter a Rate Card Name.
- Select the Carrier from the dropdown menu.
- Input Carrier Charges and Customer Charges.
- Click on Add New Rate Card to save.

Charges based on weight range:
- Enter a Rate Card Name.
- Select the Carrier from the dropdown menu.
- Check the option for By Weight Range.
- Enter the carrier and customer charges for each weight range.
Note:
- Carrier Charge are optional reference cost based on what the carrier charges and Customer Charge is the rate to be charged to the customer for each parcel or consignment.
- Only one rate card per carrier is allowed.
- Currency defined at the customer level in billing module will be applicable while creating the rate card.
Step 5: All created rate cards will appear in the main grid from where the user can edit or deactivate existing rate cards as needed -

Applying Charges in the Billing Module
Step 1: Navigate to the Customer Module.Step 2: Select the Billing Parameters for the chosen customer.
Step3: Go to the B2C or B2B Order Charges section.
Step 4: Set up the Base Rate Charges by Carrier, which can include:
- Standard Domestic Delivery Charges
- Express Domestic Delivery Charges
- Standard International Delivery Charges
- Express International Delivery Charges
Step 5: After setting up these base charges, billing calculations will automatically incorporate both the base charges, and the additional charges defined in the rate card for more accurate invoicing.
Example Walkthrough:
Suppose you have set up a Rate Card for Carrier X with a flat rate:
- Carrier Name: Carrier X

Flat Rate: $10
In the Billing Module, you set up Base Rate by Carrier for B2C orders, assigning:

Standard Domestic Delivery: $5 (base rate)
For a customer order, the total charge calculation would be:
Base Rate ($5) + Rate Card Customer Charge ($10) = $15
Note:
If there is no rate card created for a carrier or a rate card has been deactivated, then only the base rate defined in billing module will be chargeable to the customer.
