Introduction
In the Warehouse Management System (WMS), we have introduced a new and alternative method for conducting location-wise stock takes. This method eliminates the need to scan the products individually and manually update the final count. Instead, users can now continuously scan all the products within a location, and the system will automatically calculate the quantity, streamlining the stock take process.
What’s New:
Previously, users had to scan one product at a time and update the count after completing the counting process. With the new method, continuous scanning is enabled for all products in a specific location, significantly improving efficiency. This feature is particularly helpful for locations with large quantities of products, as it reduces the time and effort required for stocktaking.
This new feature also ensures that counting is limited to either usable or unusable quantities at a time and is restricted to single-batch products if batch tracking is enabled. However, for accuracy in inventory records, any necessary adjustments after stock take completion will need to be handled through stock adjustment or stock transfer processes. Additionally, this feature is applicable only to location-based stock takes.
Advantages:
- Time Efficiency: Continuous scanning speeds up the stock take process by automating quantity calculations, especially in warehouses with large SKU volumes.
- Improved Accuracy: Automatic counting decreases the likelihood of human error, leading to more precise stock records.
- Streamlined Workflow: Users can scan products in bulk without needing to stop and input quantities for each item, improving operational flow.
- Batch and Condition Specific: Usable and unusable items, as well as batch-enabled products, are counted accurately, providing greater control over stock levels.
- Reduced Manual Effort: Automation reduces repetitive tasks, freeing up time for users and minimizing physical strain.
