Activating the KIT Overselling Option

Overview:

This article explains how stock quantities are distributed when a single Inventory SKU (iSKU) is assigned to multiple Catalogue SKUs (cSKUs) across various marketplaces. The distribution of stock can vary depending on the product type associated with each cSKU.

Scenario 1: Single iSKU Mapped to Multiple Single Product cSKUs

Example:

• iSKU: PEN
• cSKUs: FOUNTAIN PEN & BALL PEN

If you have 100 units of iSKU PEN, both cSKUs (FOUNTAIN PEN & BALL PEN) will initially display 100 units each on the marketplaces.

Stock Adjustment Example:

• An order is placed for 10 units of FOUNTAIN PEN.
• Remaining stock for both cSKUs will be:
  • FOUNTAIN PEN: 90 units
  • BALL PEN: 90 units

Scenario 2: Single iSKU Mapped to Both Single Product and KIT Product cSKUs

Example:

• iSKU: PEN
• cSKUs: FOUNTAIN PEN (Single Product) & BALL PEN (KIT Product)

The KIT Product (BALL PEN) includes 2 units of PEN and 1 unit of REFILL.

Case 1: KIT Overselling Disabled 

Assume the inventory includes 100 units of PEN and 100 units of REFILL.

1. Total Quantity Calculation for KIT Product:
   • PEN (1+1) = 2 units
   • REFILL = 1 unit
2. Minimum Stock Availability:
   • PEN (100/2 = 50 units)
   • REFILL (100/1 = 100 units)
3. KIT Product Stock:
   • The available stock for the KIT product (BALL PEN) will be the minimum value, which is 50 units.
4. Single Product Stock:
   • The single product listing (FOUNTAIN PEN) will have 100 units.

Final Stock on Marketplace:

• Single Product: FOUNTAIN PEN: 100 units
• KIT Product: BALL PEN: 50 units (PEN: 50 units, REFILL: 100 units)

Case 2: KIT Overselling Enabled

Again, assume the inventory includes 100 units of PEN and 100 units of REFILL.

1. Total Quantity Calculation for KIT Product:
   • PEN (1+1) = 2 units
   • REFILL = 1 unit
2. Minimum Stock Availability:
   • PEN (100/2 = 50 units)
   • REFILL (100/1 = 100 units)
3. KIT Product Stock:
   • The available stock for the KIT product (BALL PEN) will be 50 units.
4. Single Product Stock:
   • The single product listing (FOUNTAIN PEN) will be updated to reflect the deduction of stock allocated to the KIT product.
   • FOUNTAIN PEN: 100 - 50 = 50 units

Final Stock on Marketplace:

• Single Product: FOUNTAIN PEN: 50 units
• KIT Product: BALL PEN: 50 units (PEN: 50 units, REFILL: 100 units)

Activating the KIT Overselling Option:

To activate the KIT overselling option:

• Log into your OMS account.
• Navigate to Account Settings > Account Overview.
• Find the option under the Application Settings card.

Note: This option is not available for Multi-Warehousing OMS accounts.
